Facebook has announced that it is making the short-form video feature Facebook Reels available to all its users. The platform also makes its new move, which it considers important in competition with TikTok, available in many parts of the application. The company also unveiled new ways creators can monetize Reels.
Facebook Reels will be displayed throughout the app
Facebook Reels will be displayed in four different places in the app. First, public Reels will be able to be shared in the Story and Reels can be created from existing public stories. Reels can also be watched directly from the Watch tab. Facebook will also add a Reels tag to the top of the Home feed, and finally the feed will feature suggested Reels videos.
Creators will be able to create their own video alongside a publicly shared video via Remix on Facebook Reels. Allowing video sharing up to 60 seconds, Facebook Reels also allows unfinished videos to be rearranged later with the Save As Draft option under the Save button. Also, in the coming months, creators recording long-form video will be offered Trim for their video edits.
Facebook is developing new monetization methods to make Reels attractive to content creators. With the Reels Play bonus program, creators will earn on views. In addition, while earning will be made with in-stream advertisements, the Stars program, based on the earning of content creators by receiving gifts from viewers, will begin to be tested.
