Meta (Facebook), which introduced its vision of the future metaverse, which led to a new trend all over the world in October 2021, made important announcements today that will enable the creation of this universe. The company has announced new features coming to Horizon Worlds, its online platform that is the foundation of the metaverse.
The new features announced by Meta will implement the incentive application that we have seen on Instagram and other social platforms in order for Horizon Worlds to reach wider audiences. The app will also get a feature that will allow creators to sell virtual items. Let’s take a look at what’s new to Horizon Worlds.
Creators will receive bonuses
Meta has announced that it will launch a bonus program for creators who are instrumental in helping Horizon Worlds grow in popularity and reach more audiences. Launched in the testing phase under the name Horizon Worlds Creator Bonus, the program will provide creators with cash prizes at the end of each month, based on their percentage of reaching the goals set. Currently, the ‘targets’ of the program, which will only start in the USA, are not yet clearly known.
Virtual item sale is coming
On the other hand, Horizon Worlds finally gets the feature that lays the foundation for online purchases that will be a part of the future of the metaverse. With the new feature currently in testing, creators will be able to sell virtual items and these items will be able to play a role in the virtual world. For example, a key sold as in the image above will allow access to a temple.
