Facebook introduced Metaverse and Horizon Home at its event today. The company, which has created its own virtual world, continues to work to be a pioneer in AR and VR with the technologies it has developed.

Announcing its virtual universe called Metaverse, which has been on the agenda for a while, the company will allow users to be more social on the internet. Users who create holograms with Metaverse will experience the internet at a high level.

Metaverse will replace the traditional internet

Facebook underlined that the virtual world called Metaverse will replace the traditional internet. Stating that everything we can do in real life is also possible in the Metaverse world, the company announced that we can socialize with our friends anywhere with the developed hardware.

Facebook has announced that it will allow Messenger calling via the Metaverse world.

Developed for Oculus Quest or Oculus Quest 2 users, Horizon Home will replace Oculus Home. Horizon Home, which allows you to spend time with friends or alone, is described as the next extension of Horizon Worlds and Horizon Workrooms.

Facebook stated that Oculus Home users will be able to transfer their current media and anything they save/download to Horizon Home.

Facebook, which allows players to customize their areas more, underlined that it has become even easier to invite friends. When users’ friends accept the invitation, they are offered the opportunity to go straight to the house where they can party or join their favorite games easily.

Replacing Oculus Venues, Horizon Venues will allow you to bring your friends to a virtual place. Horizon Venues, which allows you to participate in virtual events with strangers, is described as a simple live streaming system. The company has announced that they will soon be streaming live NBA games on Horizon Venues.

Facebook said it will add Oculus Avatar support to Unity Engine in December and to Unreal Engine 4 early next year. This means developers can now integrate your Oculus Avatar directly into their games, just as Nintendo did with their personal Mii characters on the Wii.

Making a presentation about the new system at the event, Faebook also announced that it added the voice call feature via Messenger to its VR technology. Combining its social media experience with VR and AR technologies, the company will enable users to socialize more through the virtual environment.
