More reports keep coming in support of Samsung’s plans to revive the Exynos chipset for the Galaxy S24 series next year. Accordingly, the company can include Exynos 2400 among the processor options of the Galaxy S24 series phones. This may bring back the performance discussions between Snapdragon and Exynos. However, apparently Samsung is ambitious this time with the Exynos 2400.
According to reports, Samsung seems to want to launch the Exynos 2400 processor, whether it will feature in its flagship phones or not. According to the new report published via @Tech_Reve, Samsung claims that it will manufacture the Exynos 2400 SoC on the 4nm LPP (Low Power Plus) process and reiterates that the processor will have 10 CPU cores.
Samsung’s biggest problem is thermal and power consumption
Nothing is finalized yet, but according to recent rumors, Samsung’s biggest challenge in developing the Exynos 2400 SoC has to do with power consumption and thermal issues. The company is trying to keep its energy requirements low while making sure the Exynos 2400 SoC has a good thermal design.
The report estimates that not many Exynos 2400 SoCs will be used in the Galaxy S24 series due to these difficulties.
On the other hand, it is also claimed that the Exynos 2400 SoC will have 10 CPU cores, including 1x Cortex-X4 primary core, 2x Cortex-A720 high-frequency cores, 3x Cortex-A720 low-frequency cores and 4x Cortex A520 energy efficiency cores.
In the meantime, leaks began to appear that the Galaxy S24 could be introduced in January – February 2024 and consist of 3 variants. But we still have a lot of time ahead of us, we’ll have to wait and see.
