Recently, Instagram, which has focused on the video side to rival TikTok and has published features that collect criticism, encountered a surprise counter-campaign. Many Instagram users started a petition called ‘Make Instagram Instagram Again’ and signed their names.
Moreover, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who have the second most followers on Instagram, were among those who supported this campaign. The fact that even these two names, who do not say money from Instagram, were against the platform was an issue that needed an answer. The expected response came from the top spot, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram.
Head of Instagram: Platform will shift to more and more videos
Mosseri admitted most of the criticisms made in the statement he shared on his social media account, admitting that his Instagram stream is currently in a bad state. But again, he made a statement that would piss users off:
“I want to be clear, we will continue to support the photos. It’s part of our legacy. I love photos and I know many of you do too. But I have to be honest, I think more and more of Instagram will turn to video.”
Of course, these statements of Mosseri again gathered the reactions of Instagram users. The summary of all these reactions was actually the following comment shared by another star name:
“We don’t want to make a video, Adam.”
