Microsoft, which bought the world’s giant game company Activision Blizzard last week, caused Sony’s shares to crash after this move. Afterwards, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer, who made a statement about both the games that will be released on PlayStation and the old Activision games, managed to make the players happy.
Today, Activision officials announced that three new games of Call of Duty, one of the company’s most popular series, will come to the PlayStation platform. It seems that PlayStation users will not be deprived of Call of Duty games for the next three years.
“At least three new games”
Activision Blizzard officials announced in their statement that they signed a three-game deal with Sony before it was acquired by Microsoft. According to the agreement, one of the three games to be released on PlayStation will be the possible sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare and will be made by Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward studio will also undertake the production of Warzone 2, the new Battle Royale game of the series. The final game in the deal will be made by Treyarch. This game is thought to be the sequel to the Black Ops series.
In addition, Phil Spencer, the CEO of Xbox, announced that the necessary agreements were made with other companies about Activision Blizzard’s games and that there was no problem that would upset the players. It is thought that the Call of Duty games that will be released on PlayStation will be released annually and after Warzone 2, which will be the last game, Sony will sit at the agreement table with Microsoft again.
But many players think that after 2023, Microsoft will release Call of Duty games exclusively for PC and Xbox. On the Xbox front, there has been no statement yet about the plans after the deal ends.
