In order to prevent opportunism in used car sales, the 6+6 application, which has been in effect for a while, was expected to be terminated as of July. However, as a result of the decisions taken by the ministry, a 6-month extension was made in the said restrictions and it became certain that they would be kept in effect until January 1, 2024.
During the meeting, Minister of Commerce Bolat stated that second-hand car sales were inspected by the ministry and that criminal action was taken against sellers who followed unfair policies and that they will continue to be applied. The statements made by the ministry today also supported the minister’s statements and stated that the inspections would continue on a regular basis.
In the statements made by the Ministry of Commerce, second-hand car dealers trying to sell at exorbitant prices were also mentioned. Expressing that measures will be taken regarding advertisements demanding prices above the vehicle value in the future, the ministry revealed its determination in the fight against exorbitant prices.
