Sony has finally revealed its long-rumored Xbox Game Pass rival. The service, known until now as Project Spartacus, basically integrates PlayStation Now into PlayStation Plus. The name of the service will still remain as PlayStation Plus, but add-ons will be used according to the subscription tier.

The service, which is defined as a completely new PlayStation Plus experience, will be active in June. According to the membership tier to be selected, subscribers will be able to access many PlayStation, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS4 and PS5 games, as in Xbox Game Pass.

As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Plus restructuring will take place in June with three main membership tiers and a fourth for select markets where cloud streaming isn’t an option. The main tiers are called PlayStaion Plus Essential, Extra and Premium.

PlayStation Plus Essential

  • $9.99 per month / $24.99 quarterly / $59.99 per year

  • Up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games to download and play

Fourth tier on the other hand, it is called PlayStation Plus Deluxe and is only available in markets where cloud streaming is not yet available. It will be priced lower than the premium tier, offering a host of alternative features to what cloud streaming is lacking. The final price of the Deluxe has not been disclosed.

PlayStation Now users will automatically upgrade to PlayStation Plus Premium in June without any increase in the current subscription price. PlayStation Now will no longer be a standalone service.
