OnePlus founder Carl Pei resigned from the company two years ago and started a new venture called “Nothing”. However, Pei did not leave the industry and introduced the brand’s AirPods rival, the fully wireless headset Nothing Ear 1, last year. Carl Pei is now preparing to rival OnePlus, which has made a name for itself with high-end phones known as the flagship killer.
Last year, we heard that Nothing is working on other products besides headphones. However, we did not see any first-hand explanation on this issue. While no other information was shared from a smartphone that was in the news with the code name “Nothing Smartphone”, former OnePlus founder Carl Pei finally broke his silence.

Nothing founder and CEO Pei, in his post on his official Twitter account, “Android 12 is beautiful!” used the phrase. Just before, Pei, who tweeted ‘return to Android’, officially signaled that he is working on a smartphone that works with Google’s operating system.
Android’s official Twitter account also wrote a tweet in response to Carl Pei, meaning “Let’s catch up, we’re far away”. On the other hand, the Snapdragon team also participated in the conversation and shared a photo with the depiction of three hands joining forces. Thus, it is certain that the paths of Nothing, Android and Qualcomm will cross again.
What will the Nothing smartphone features be like?
Although this conversation between the three brands points to a Nothing signed smartphone, no specifics of the device are known. However, the fact that Carl Pei makes such a concrete post brings with it the possibility that the promotion of the phone may be very close.
Recently, Nothing India General Manager Manu Sharma made a statement about the future plans of the brand. He stated that the company is working on 5 new products and they are working at full speed to launch them. Unfortunately, Sharma did not share the features of the products or additional information such as the release date.
