Twitter knows nothing about the number of fake and bot accounts
Earlier, Elon Musk agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion. However, he later tries to withdraw from this deal, citing that the firm did not provide him with sufficient information about the fake accounts. Twitter, on the other hand, sued Musk so that he did not return from the deal and bought the company as promised.

Now, Twitter’s former head of security, Peiter Zatko, has leaked a lot of information via Twitter. In his allegation, he said the company failed to provide necessary information and misled federal regulators on safety. According to the security chief, Twitter does not have any information on the number of fake and bot accounts.
These claims of Zatko seem to affect the company’s legal battle with Musk. If Zatko’s claims are true, Twitter will have to pay a federal fine. It may also be a reason for Elon Musk not to buy the company.
The reason for Zatko’s disclosure of this information is that he was fired in January of this year. The former security chief also filed a two-hundred-page complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in July. It accuses Twitter of deceiving shareholders and violating its agreement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to protect certain security standards. Twitter said a few days ago that Zatko was fired for “ineffective leadership and poor performance”.
Zatko’s lawyer made a statement on the subject. In his statement, he said that Zatko started this process before Elon Musk’s attempt to buy Twitter. He also stated that he has not been in contact with Musk in any way.
