Some Steam Deck customers have complained that their consoles were lost during shipping and are asking Valve to replace the packaging in which the console was delivered. But how can this question have anything to do with the packaging? As reported by

PC Gamer, Reddit user u/Defenex created a thread detailing that his packages were marked as ‘delivered’ by FedEx, although the device never reached him. These messages say, “FedEx came in a few days later and said their investigation was complete, their record was that the package was delivered, and that I should contact the shipper (Valve)”.

The same issue later appears to have finally reached the customer after an investigation into the disappearance of the Steam Deck. However, there are reports of similar events, and the general consensus is that Valve has updated the console’s packaging to help hide the package contents.

It’s worth noting that there is no evidence that this customer was the victim of an attempted theft. Shipments can be lost or delayed for many reasons. However, it is not difficult to understand that there is an expensive product in Steam Deck packages. That’s why the first thing that comes to mind for those who can’t get their device back is theft.

Steam Deck comes in a box with lithium battery and “fragile electronics” logos for online purchases. This indicates that it contains electronics that can be expensive. However, the only official reference to the Steam Deck or even Valve on the pack is a hidden Companion Cube icon from the Portal series on the side alongside other security information.

Some users claim that Valve originally shipped the Steam Deck in packaging that shows the handheld in the box image, but no evidence of such packaging has yet been found.
