Earlier this month, MediaTek introduced the Dimensity 9000 processor. The company has now announced that it will hold an event for the Dimensity 9000 on December 16. Dimensity 9000 is the world’s first chipset produced with TSMC’s 4nm process. It contains a single ARM Cortex X2 main performance core clocked at 3.05 GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.85 GHz and a 10-core ARM Mali-G710 graphics processing unit.
Dimensity 9000 features
The D9000 incorporates a fifth-generation six-core APU for AI processing. It supports FHD + resolution screens with 180Hz refresh rate. In addition, it comes with LPDDR5x RAM support. The 18-bit ISP has the ability to shoot 4K HDR videos with three cameras simultaneously. Devices working with this processor also have the opportunity to support a 320 Megapixel camera.
D9000 supports connectivity options such as sub-6GHz 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. According to Finbarr Moynihan, Vice President of Enterprise Marketing at MediaTek, the D9000 offers similar performance to the Apple A15 Bionic in multi-core benchmark tests. Devices powered by this chipset are expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022.
The cost of the processor is almost double that of the Dimensity 1200
The high production costs of the Dimensity 9000 were noted recently. At this point, it turned out to be about twice the price of its predecessor, the Dimensity 1200. From this point of view, it was expected that the prices of the devices using the D9000 would be higher than the devices using the D1200.
