Vegetables are not the favorite food of many, but it is an undeniable fact that the interest in vegan and vegetarian diets has increased in the last 10 years and that vegetables are extremely important and beneficial for human health.
This graphic, prepared by Landgeist in these periods when vegetable consumption increased, revealed the vegetable consumption habits of the countries in Europe. According to this graph, countries such as the Netherlands, Slovakia and Norway have the least vegetable consumption in Europe, while countries such as Albania, Macedonia, Croatia and Turkey are among the countries that consume the most vegetables.
A family in Turkey consumes more than 200 kilograms of vegetables annually.
In the published chart, we can relate why some countries consume very little vegetables with meat consumption, because a chart shared by Landgeist on October 5 and revealing meat consumption in Europe showed that meat consumption is high in most countries that you can see in pale green color in this table. Turkey, on the other hand, was quite behind the countries that consumed the most meat.
In the newly published chart on vegetable consumption, we see that countries such as Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, United Kingdom and France lag behind in vegetable consumption. In many countries in the south of Europe, especially in Turkey, more than 200 kilograms of vegetables are consumed per family per year.
