Ethereum developers have confirmed that the previously announced and highly anticipated Ethereum Merge will take place on September 15.
Ethereum developers working on the highly anticipated Merge upgrade said that the likely official date for the transition to Proof of Stake will take place on September 15, which was previously announced. Last week, Ethereum (ETH) creator Vitalik Buterin said that according to the estimate, the upgrade could happen around September 15.
A Developer Provides Information About the History of Ethereum Merge

These announcements were also confirmed at the developers meeting held recently. Ethereum lead developer Tim Beiko said:
“At this point, the only thing that could cause Merge history to change is the possibility of a massive drop in hash rate after Bellatrix is hit. For example, if we see the difficulty level 5875000000000000000000000 break down a few weeks after September 15, we can coordinate a TTD level”
The tentative date range for September 15 was set at a developers meeting last week, reported by crypto circles. Aside from the high expectations, the Ethereum team has reportedly debunked some common “misunderstandings” about Merge about Ethereum gas fees.
