A new bug has been detected on Twitter, the world’s most popular microblogging platform. This bug is causing users to restore deleted tweets. If you have recently cleaned your Twitter account, we strongly recommend that you double-check your profile.

The name that detected the error on Twitter was James Vincent from The Verge team. Explaining that he deleted all his posts on Twitter on May 8, Vincent states that some of the tweets he shared in the past and his retweets started to appear again during his checks.

Nothing is known about the error!

James Vincent isn’t the only one who noticed the bug on Twitter. A post on the decentralized social network Mastodon also reveals that there are other users who are aware of the issue. In fact, a user made the following statements in a post he made on May 17: I deleted all my tweets in November. I then deleted all my likes, media and retweets via Redact and also. Today I woke up and saw that Twitter had restored 34,000 of them. Now I’m deleting it again. This shows why you should never use Twitter.

When we looked at Twitter’s support accounts and Elon Musk’s posts, we could not see any explanation on the subject. This suggests that the Twitter team was not even aware of the bug that brought back users’ tweets and retweets. However, if you’ve been cleaning Twitter lately, it’s worth checking them out. Don’t get in trouble…
