Analysts stated that users who enable automatic updating in the Google Play Store may be affected by the chat ordering error. Accelerating its work on the problem, WhatsApp has released the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.16.7.
The error that occurs due to not updating the chat list causes it to be at the bottom of the conversation list when a new message arrives. Some users explained that restarting the app is the workaround for the error.
To help users discover channels of their interests, WhatsApp is working on a new search feature. It should be noted that users can join channels through invitation links.
Stating that privacy will be at the forefront, the company underlined that users’ personal information will not be shared with anyone in the Channels feature. Expressing that channel managers cannot see personal information, the company stated that they will only keep the history of the channels on their servers for 30 days.
