Epic Games Store, known for its Fortnite and Unreal Engine, technology giant Epic Games introduced its new mobile application RealityScan. With RealityScan, users will be able to 3D scan the items they use in daily life and add these models to their own projects.
The app is available in beta
Epic has also released a video on how the app works. RealityScan is available in beta for only 10,000 users on Apple’s TestFlight platform. The iOS version of RealityScan is expected to be available in early access in the spring, while the Android version will be available before the end of the year.
According to The Verge’s Jay Peters, the app doesn’t perform as well as Epic says and the models look like abstract art-style models. However, the app is still in beta and Epic will work on such issues.
