The immensely powerful game engine Unreal Engine 5, whose technology demos have been published for a long time and that we have been reporting to be used in various AAA games, has finally been officially released publicly by Epic Games.
It’s been almost 2 years since Unreal Engine 5 was announced. At the State of Unreal event held today, Epic Games stated that Unreal Engine 5 is currently available for download from the Epic Games Store. Let’s take a look at what Unreal Engine 5 brings for developers.
Photo-realistic images take to the next level with Unreal Engine 5
There are a lot of improvements including performance and updated interface. But of course, the most prominent feature of Unreal Engine 5 is that it is designed to produce photo-realistic images. Photo-realistic technologies include Lumen and Nanite features.
Lumen lets you achieve fully dynamic global illumination for more lifelike lighting, while Nanite provides you with enormous amounts of geometric detail, giving you the ability to create more realistic games and experiences. Unreal Engine 5 also includes practical tools such as splitting parts of an open world to make it easier for teams to work regionally independently.
When all these features come together, making high-quality large-scale games will now become much easier for developers. As you know, when CD Project Red announced the new Witcher game, they stated that they used Unreal Engine 5 for the development process. What are you thinking?
