Ethereum Name Service (ENS) registrations have reached close to 2 million users to date. Issues such as the Cardano update and Ethereum Merge increase the activity on the agenda. ENS domain ownership hits an all-time high.
ENS domain ownership increased to over 1.8 million with 378 thousand new registrations in July; Ethereum Merge was cited as the key player in the increase.
ENS Registrations Increase Thanks to Ethereum Merge
According to ENS Domains, the increase in registrations is a result of the merger that Ethereum developers are preparing for next month. It was previously announced that there was an increase in the market volume, NFTs and gas prices of ETH.
Khori Whittaker, Executive Director of True Names Limited, the ENS Domains umbrella company, believes the increase is more organic. According to Whittaker, the company is also beginning to see an increase in the presence of non-English-speaking communities in the ENS ecosystem, including Arabic and Spanish-speaking communities.
In the tweet that ENS Domains announced the record number of domain ownership; Revenue of 5,400 ETH (about $8.8 million) and 48,000 new Ethereum accounts using at least one ENS name, as well as more than 99 percent of domain sales volume on OpenSea last month.
