Intel, which has recently launched its 13th Generation Raptor Lake architecture processors, has managed to make an assertive entry into the market. Today, the chip giant, which continues its preparations on Raptor Lake mobile processors, announced that the 11th Generation Rocket Lake-S processors will be shelved with a surprise statement.

Deadline for Intel Rocket Lake processors has been announced

According to a statement made on Tuesday, Intel plans to stop production of 11th Generation Rocket Lake-S processors from February 23, 2024. In this context, the chip giant, which is preparing to leave all 14nm processors behind, will give its business partners until August 25, 2023 for new orders. It should also be noted that 400 and 500 series motherboards with Intel LGA 1200 support will also be phased out.

If we recall, the Rocket Lake series processors, which were released in 2021, appeared with the 14nm process technology announced in 2014. The different core architecture accompanying the new processors caused the peak model chipsets to be limited to eight cores. That’s why the chip giant had a hard time getting what it expected in the AMD Ryzen competition.

Saying goodbye to 14nm after Rocket Lake, Intel today uses 10nm production technology in 12th Generation processors and 7nm in 13th Generation processors.
