Announcing that he will change the name of the Twitter application with a sudden decision last week, Elon Musk accelerated his work for the new platform. The Android Beta version has been released for the X platform, which is stated to be audio, video, messaging and payments/banking centered. Here are the details…

X Android Beta is now available

For users participating in the Twitter Beta program, version 10.0.0-beta.0 of the X app is now available. Twitter’s blue bird app icon has been replaced with a white X on a black background, which is also used as a status bar icon for some notifications.

The Android app is still called “Twitter Beta”. But a review of the APK by our Dylan Roussel later revealed that once this change is stable, the launcher name will be “X”.

The Play Store listing hasn’t been updated yet, but the upcoming change will send the X to the end of your app guide. It’s worth noting that the X has an icon that adopts your Dynamic Color theme.

Inside the app, the X appears in the app bar of the Home feed instead of Twitter’s old icon. However, Twitter Blue has been simply renamed to “Blue”.

Let’s note that the package name of the application is still com.twitter.android. This seems unlikely to change as a new app and listing will be required, as developers often avoid forcing people to download anything new regardless of the migration.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino describes platform X as “the app for everything.” It is stated that the platform will also have artificial intelligence supported features.
