Meta’s Messenger app is being removed from Apple Watch starting May 31, but users will still be able to see incoming messages. The removal of the app means users will no longer be able to reply to Facebook messages from their watch and will instead have to resort to the app on their iPhone.
“Users can still receive Messenger notifications on their Apple Watch, but as of early June they will no longer be able to respond from their watch,” a Meta spokesperson said: They can continue to use it.”
The Messenger app was introduced on the Apple Watch in 2015 with the option to send audio clips and stickers, but did not allow the user to provide text replies. If you’ve ever used an Apple Watch, you already know that trying to type a message on the small screen isn’t all that fun or easy.
This move of Apple has received a reaction from some Apple Watch users. While users said they were disappointed, they shared on social media that they did not agree with the idea of removing the app from Apple Watch. So, what do you think about this? Write in the comments.
