Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 as it is commonly known, has been one of the largest gaming events in the world for more than 25 years. Held every year in the USA, the event hosted gaming companies and gamers from around the world and featured the announcements of many new games, software and hardware.
Today, a statement came from E3 showing that an era is coming to an end. In the statement made by the organization behind the event, Entertainment Software Association (ESA), on its official accounts, it was announced that E3 will not be held again.
“Thank you for the memories”

With the statement made on E3’s official X (Twitter) account, the event’s farewell to the gaming world was announced. ESA thanked everyone for the memories in a statement: “After more than 20 years of E3, each one bigger than the last, it is time to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories.”
What brought E3 to an end?
E3, which has hosted iconic moments over the years, has started to lose its power lately. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. It was held entirely virtually in 2021, and not at all in 2022. This year, it was canceled again after many game companies announced that they would not participate. So it hasn’t been held physically since 2019.
The reason for E3’s collapse is not just the pandemic. Many publishers have now started to organize their own events, either online or physically. In addition, Summer Game Fest, held in June, similar to E3, has become more preferred. After all this, E3 never regained its former greatness.
