Be for GTX graphics cards, the end appeared
According to Nvidia’s announcement, the support of many models from the old GTX 700 series to the 2016 GTX 1000 series for new CUDA features ended. This means that in the near future, Game Ready will leave the driver’s package. In addition, Pascal architecture is still officially supported, but new features or optimizations will not be added.
Let’s say the new news is not surprising. Nowadays, Nvidia usually ends the support for the next architecture with a few years apart. This was the last time in 2021. Meanwhile, it will continue to be a separate driver section for its old cards. However, these versions are usually published every few months and focus on security updates rather than providing new features or performance optimization for new games.
Maxwell and Pascal architectures, which were released in 2014 and 2016, were the basis of many graphics cards. Moreover, the Maxwell -based GeForce GTX 750 ti, which stands out with its power efficiency. On the other hand, the GTX 1060 is the most popular graphics card in the Steam Hardware Survey for more than 5 years. Moreover, it is still 12th.
