Federal Communications Commission shared the relevant statement
The Huawei and ZTE duo, as well as the Hytera, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology and Dahua trio, will no longer be able to sell telecommunications and video surveillance equipment in the US.
The relevant embargo statement targeting Chinese companies has been uploaded to the internet. FCC Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel made a press release on this issue. She herself said:
“The FCC is committed to protecting US national security by ensuring that unreliable communications equipment is not allowed to be used within US borders, and we continue to work towards these.”
“These new rules are an important part of our ongoing actions to protect the American people from telecommunications-themed national security threats.”
