Born in 1947, British singer and musician Elton John had decided to put an end to his music career that lasted more than 50 years. “Sir” Elton John is preparing to perform live for the last time with his fans on a world tour called Farewell Yellow Brick Road.
One of the concerts that John will give as part of this tour will be the USA concert. The concert, which will be hosted by the Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, can also be watched live on Disney+ screens.
Disney paid $30 million for Elton John documentary
The concert, which will be broadcast live, is also part of Disney+’s documentary package focusing on the artist’s farewell tour and career. The $30 million documentary Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances And the Years That Made His Legend will feature footage from the artist’s concerts over the past 50 years, previously unreleased scenes, notes from handwritten diaries, and scenes about himself and his family. It is stated that the documentary will first be shown at festivals and in a small number of selected movie theaters, and then on Disney+ screens.
RJ Cutler will be in the director’s chair of the documentary. Cutler previously directed the documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Bit Blurry for Apple TV+. Another popular documentary that came out of the director’s camera was Belushi.
Elton John is familiar with working with Disney. The famous musician made the songs Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight for the movie The Lion King. John also managed to win the Oscar for one of these songs, Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
Elton John’s last US concert will take place on November 20.
