Just when we were saying that we are getting through a 24-hour period when Elon Musk and Twitter (okay, ok X) were not included in our headlines, new news came. The overly illuminated X logo placed on the roof of the company’s headquarters the day Twitter turned into X led to a fine.
The San Francisco administration fined $4.447 for the logo, which disturbed the people in the surrounding buildings with its brightness and flashing, and was later downloaded. Elon Musk or the company did not pay the fine. According to the news of the San Francisco Chronicle, the penalty for the X logo was paid by the original owner of the building.
Why exactly was the sentence cut?
- “Do not imagine anything Virgo. This is my life now.”
The reason for the fine was not actually due to the 24 legal complaints filed against the logo. The City’s Building Inspection Department, which examined these complaints, requested to go up to the roof to examine the sign. However, the X administration refused this request and did not let the investigation team into the building.
After that, the review team announced to Insider that the owner of the building would be fined for “lack of permission”. The penalties were finally revealed:
- $761 – Permission required to remove sign
- $1580 – Planning Department applications
- $2106 – Department of Building Inspection applications
Elon Musk is happy with the punishment:
Responding to a user’s comment about the penalty, “The cheapest marketing effort of all time,” Musk shared the following excerpt from Al Pacino’s famous scene:
