Elon Musk may have gotten himself in trouble once again with his new twitter share. As you may recall, Tesla and SpaceX CEO suspended the purchase due to fake and spam accounts on Twitter. Thereupon, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal started a new discussion, saying that the company is “ready for all scenarios”.
Musk later announced that his team will do a random test of 100 followers on Twitter for spam and fake accounts. However, with this answer, the billionaire businessman may have gotten into trouble with the Twitter legal team.
Twitter accuses Elon Musk of violating confidentiality agreement!
According to the statement made by Elon Musk, the last tweet he shared has drawn the reaction of the legal team of the social media company, with Twitter revealing its methodology. Choosing the number 100 to test the spam and fake account rate, Musk also revealed the official bot control amount of Twitter.
Musk made the following statements in his tweet:
I chose 100 as the sample size figure because that’s what Twitter uses to calculate <5% fake/spam/bot.
Twitter legal team called me to complain that I violated their privacy policy by explaining that the sample size for checking bot accounts is 100.
Twitter has not yet responded to this statement of Elon Musk. The number 100 may actually be the first quantity that comes to mind to test anything. That’s why we don’t think Elon Musk will face any sanctions just because of a tweet.
On the other hand, since we do not know exactly what is included in Twitter’s confidentiality agreement, it is useful not to be precise. So what do you think about Elon Musk and Twitter? You can share your views with us in the comments section or on the SDN Forum.
