Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov called to Elon Musk on his Twitter account and asked him to provide Starlink stations and satellite internet access to the country. After this call for help, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that the Starlink service was now activated for Ukraine and sent many Starlink terminals to Ukraine.

On top of these events, some government officials asked Elon Musk to block Russian media outlets from the Starlink satellite broadband service. Elon Musk did not welcome this request.

Elon Musk said on Twitter that some government officials wanted Starlink to block Russian media outlets. Elon Musk made a statement on Twitter regarding these requests, “Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources. We will not do this unless forced by guns. Sorry for being an absolutist of free speech.” made statements.
