The United States, whose construction started in July 2020 and started production, albeit limited, before the end of 2021. The Giga Texas automotive manufacturing facility in the US state of Texas began delivery in the first week of April 2022, that is, yesterday. Before the delivery, an event called Cyber Rodeo, supported by various shows, was held.
The event is thought to be named after the Tesla vehicle called Cybertruck, which is expected to be available for sale in 2021 but is said to not be ready for delivery in 2022 after various disruptions.
Elon Musk: What’s the use of door handles?
While Tesla’s CEO and co-founder Elon Musk opened the event, futuristic discourses and plans, as always, started to come to the fore from the very first minutes. The richest person in the world, who started his speech with a cowboy hat, showed the new version of Cybertruck for the first time. This new version has more side mirrors and headlights, while the door handles have been removed.
This is also the case with “Who needs doorknobs? The car can sense you’re there and open the doors by itself.” Explaining that, Musk also said that robotaxes, which are now a dream, will be included in our lives in the future.
The event started with the demonstration of drones
In the event, which started with drones, the face of Nikola Tesla, whose name the company bears, was first depicted in the sky. Afterwards, Tesla Model Y and Cybertruck vehicles were also depicted in the sky by drones.
The people who made a great effort to come to the event were also noteworthy. Some fans came from far distances to the Texas area for this event. The company’s new factory, which allocates space for 15,000 people, will take on a major task in the production area. The Tesla Model Y, which was first unveiled in 2019, will be produced at the production facility. Next year, we will see Cybertruck, which is waiting to be produced with its extraordinary appearance, in this factory.
