X (formerly known as Twitter), which started testing unexpected features after being purchased by Elon Musk, was testing the like hiding feature last month. However, Elon Musk does not recommend using this feature, which became available globally in September.
Elon Musk: You can hide likes in X, but I don’t recommend it
The number of likes a post receives has always been important for social media users. But if there was one thing that was more important on Twitter for years, it was the posts that users liked. Last month, the platform brought the end of an era by offering the option to hide likes.
After this feature was activated, Elon Musk made a statement immediately. Musk made a statement in the tweet he shared: “You can now hide your likes, but I recommend keeping them open and only using bookmarks for interesting posts.”
Thanks to the new feature, you can hide the posts you like from other users. When you activate this feature, the posts you like from both the users’ timeline and your profile will be disabled.
On the other hand, you will be able to see your own likes and access them from your profile. It should be noted that this feature is only available to Twitter Blue (or X Premium) subscribers.
On the other hand, the report that appeared a while ago revealed that X suffered a huge loss of users with the lowest number of downloads in the last 10 years. The reason for this is unknown, but users complain that many features are paid for.
