Elon Musk has repeatedly emphasized that one of the biggest goals behind buying Twitter is freedom of speech. Musk launched a vote on his Twitter account yesterday.
In the vote, Musk asked the Twitter public if they wanted former US President Donald Trump to be included back on Twitter. In the poll, in which millions of people voted, the result was clear by a small margin.
The result of the vote was for Trump to return to Twitter
In the Twitter poll, in which a total of 15 million 85 thousand 458 people voted, Musk asked the people of Twitter whether we should bring Trump back or not. According to Musk, as a result of the poll, which was seen by 134 million people, those who wanted Trump’s return were in the majority.
After the Twitter population voted yes to Trump’s return with 51.8% (7,814,267 votes), Musk said, “People have made their decision. Trump will come back. Vox Populi tweeted: “Vox Dei (voice of the people, voice of God – Latin)”.
Of course, it is unknown how many bots were in this vote. The funny thing is that 2 years ago, Twitter executives announced that even if Trump was re-elected, his Twitter account would never be opened.
Donald Trump’s account has been reactivated
After Musk’s vote, Trump’s account was reactivated nearly two years later. The former president’s Twitter account was permanently suspended after the Capitol raid, citing the possibility of fomenting future violence.
