A report by Business Insider reports that Elon Musk has purchased thousands of GPUs for his Twitter artificial intelligence project.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter as of last October, recently requested that the development of artificial intelligence be stopped due to some concerns. However, the latest information shared shows that Elon Musk has not given up on his own artificial intelligence plans.
10,000 GPUs Purchased
The report published by Business Insider showed that Musk is continuing his plans for the artificial intelligence project.
According to two anonymous sources familiar with the company, the Twitter CEO recently purchased around 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) for use on the platform. In a post on March 18, Musk said on Twitter that he would use artificial intelligence to detect and highlight public manipulation.
Sources, who did not want to be named, stated that the project is still in its early stages, but the purchase of so many GPUs shows Musk’s dedication to this project. Stating that the project works with large language models (LLM), the sources stated that the role of artificial intelligence on Twitter is still not fully clear.
In addition, Twitter has recently acquired names with backgrounds in artificial intelligence such as Igor Babuschkin and Manuel Kroiss.
