SpaceX boss Elon Musk announced on his personal Twitter account that the Starlink satellite internet service is now operational in all continents of the world. The experienced manager said, “Starlink is now active on every continent, including Antarctica.”

Elon Musk added that the company launched 54 more Starlink satellites into orbit on Sunday, September 18. The number of satellites SpaceX has sent into space has exceeded 3,000. The company promises to provide internet access anywhere in the world with a traffic speed of 1 gigabit per second, corresponding to the 5G standard.
The cost may reach $30 billion
SpaceX launched its satellite internet project in February 2018. Initially, Starlink was planned to consist of 12,000 satellites, but the company has applied to launch 30,000 more satellites in 2019. Elon Musk says they plan to invest up to $30 billion to develop the Starlink satellite internet service.
