Cage fight will air on X
Elon Musk said in an X post that the cage fight he proposed with Mark Zuckerberg will be broadcast live on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Social media moguls have been provoking each other for a mixed martial arts cage match in Las Vegas since June.
In his post, Musk said, “The Zuck v Musk fight will be broadcast live on X. All proceeds will go to charities for veterans,” but he did not provide further details. Musk also said that he “lifted weights all day, preparing for a fight” in the X office, and stated that he did not have time to exercise, so he brought the weights to work. When a user on X asked Musk about the purpose of the fight, Musk replied, “This is a civilized form of war. Men love war.”
The cage-fighting controversy began when Musk said in a post on June 20 that he was “ready for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg, who had trained in jiu-jitsu. A day later, Zuckerberg, 39, who shared photos of the matches his company won on his Instagram platform, asked Musk, 51, to “send a venue” for the fight, and Musk replied, “Vegas Octagon”, referring to an event venue where mixed martial arts (MMA) championship matches are held. Musk later said that he would start training if the cage fight took place. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg continues his training.
