Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Federov addressed Elon Musk in a statement he made on his Twitter account yesterday. Stating that the communication in the country was insufficient, Federov asked Musk to activate the Starlink satellites in Ukraine.
Addressing the founder of Starlink, Federov said, “While you are trying to colonize Mars, Russia is trying to invade Ukraine. While your rockets are successfully landing from space, Russian rockets are attacking the Ukrainian civilian population. We ask you to provide Starlink stations to Ukraine”.
Elon Musk did not refuse this request of Ukraine
11 hours after Mikhail Federov’s sharing, Elon Musk gave the good news. Sharing on his Twitter account, Musk said, “Starlink service is currently active in Ukraine. More terminals are on the way.” He replied to the call of the Deputy Prime Minister.
Just before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, cyber attacks against the country started and serious damage was done to the communication networks in the country. Citizens in Ukraine stated that their telephone and internet infrastructures were insufficient and therefore they had serious communication problems.
