The founder of SpaceX, billionaire businessman Elon Musk, agreed to provide internet support to the country after the Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Mykhailo Fedorov, reached out to him. According to NetBlocks, internet connectivity is experiencing significant disruptions in many parts of Ukraine as Russia progresses.

Federov, referring to SpaceX’s satellite internet service, “We want you to provide Starlink stations to Ukraine ” said. A few hours after Federov’s tweet, Musk responded by saying that Starlink is now active in Ukraine and sending more terminals to use the service. However, Musk left the details unclear on how to bring the terminals to the country. These terminals are necessary for the public to access the Starlink network.

The move is not a first for Musk. It had previously sent around 50 Starlink terminals to Tonga, which had to re-establish the internet after a volcanic eruption.
