DeLorean Motor Company (DMC), which made a rapid entry into the sector in the 70s but could not find what it wanted and went bankrupt, returned years later with a car with an electric motor. Named “Alpha5”, the car was inspired by the DMC-12, the only model the company produced in its commercial life.
Although the DMC-12 did not find a place in the market, it became famous around the world thanks to the movie called Back to Future. The DMC-12, which was specially modified for the movie, which was released for the first time in 1985 and became a trilogy over time, was one of the dream cars of those years. The Alpha5 looks like it might get just as much attention as the original.
Introducing DMC Alpha5
Alpha5’s exterior design has a very futuristic structure. The vehicle, which has thin strip LED headlights, impresses with almost every detail. The design inspired by the DMC-12 also draws attention with its wing doors. This door design provides ample space for both rear and front seat passengers.
When we look at the rear of the vehicle, we see the illuminated DeLorean logo. The LED strip lighting, which completely covers the rear, has added a different atmosphere to the car. The spoiler that completely covers the rear window of the vehicle is taken from the original DMC-12.
Alpha5 is also an impressive car with its electric motor. According to the company, the car, which completes 0-100 km / h acceleration in 3.4 seconds, has a battery installation that offers a range of around 480 kilometers according to EPA standards. It should be noted that the maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 241 km / h.
The price of the DMC Alpha5 is unknown. However, this car will be available for pre-order in the coming months. Alpha5, which will be produced only 88 units, will be on the roads in 2024.
