Electric cars’ market share has increased!

With the new report published by Jose Pontes, the electric car sales figures for January 2022 in Europe became clear. According to the published report, January 2022 was the worst time in the last 30 years for the European market. There was a significant decline in automobile sales. However, this situation did not affect electric vehicles at all.

As of 2022, sales of electric cars increased by 39 percent compared to last year. In addition, with 156,236 sales figures, the share of electric vehicles in the market increased to 19 percent. This shows that people’s interest in electric vehicles has increased and they want to abandon fossil fuels.

53 percent of total electric vehicle sales were purely electric vehicles. Looking at the data in detail, 83 thousand of the sales belong to purely electric vehicles and 73 thousand of them belong to rechargeable hybrid cars.
