Red Dead: Redemption 2, the masterpiece of Rockstar Games according to many game gourmets, came into our lives about 5 years ago and brought the bar to an almost insurmountable point in the game world. With its story, graphics, realism or small details, RDR 2 is still a production where people find new things while playing.

As you know, in the story mode of the game, together with the Van Der Linde gang, we set up camps in various regions according to the flow of events and lead a nomadic life. In one of the camps we set up in the game, Jack, the children of John and Abigail, encountered a dog that had lost its way.

The real dog ‘Einstein’, who played this dog in the studio, whose name is ‘Cain’ in the game, unfortunately passed away

Einstein’s owner, Jason Barnes, shared a farewell message for his dear friend who passed away on his Instagram account: “Einstein was truly unique. From the moment we met, we formed a deep bond and realized that it was our destiny to embark on countless adventures together. Your intelligence was extraordinary, causing us to call you Einstein; sometimes the name sounded like a joke.”

Barnes previously worked as an animator at Rockstar Games during RDR2’s long development. He had brought Einstein in to portray Cain in the game with motion capture. This meant that Einstein was wearing a cute jumpsuit covered with little white balls, and the computer was helping the dog record and track its movements. Einstein’s work was so helpful and played such a big part in the game that he was featured alongside other human and animal players in the final credits of RDR2.

Einstein’s death also upset Red Dead Redemption 2 fans. In a post shared on the game’s Reddit page, players showed their love for Cain and Einstein. Others said that they made mods to change Cain’s fate in the game. We wish Einstein to sleep peacefully.

(SPOILER) What role did Cain play in Red Dead: Redemption 2?

When the Van Der Linde gang sets up camp at Clemens Point, little Jack Marston and Dutch are standing in front of his tent when they notice a dog entering the camp. Jack, who was very excited after Dutch said, ‘This dog is ours now,’ said to him, ‘What should we name the dog?’ he asks. “This dog did something very bad and ran away from him,” Dutch said. He’s been wandering around ever since because he lost his way. I name it ‘Cain’ (Cain)” and Cain is now the dog of the camp.

One day in Beaver Hollows, our last camp in the game, Jack notices Cain missing and starts looking for him, shouting his name. After yelling for a while, Micah tells Jack that the dog is gone now and that he should shut up. Later, Arthur approached Micah and said, ‘What did you do to the dog?’ we find out that Micah killed him.
