eBay launched the first NFT collection with hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
California-based e-commerce company has joined forces with OneOf, the “green” NFT platform for its NFT collection.
eBay’s NFT collection will include 13 different artworks dedicated to one of the greatest hockey players of all time. Each piece is worth up to $1500.
eBay launched at the height of the dot-com bubble in the late 90’s. The company remains the second largest e-commerce platform in the US after Amazon.
Although it is said that Amazon will turn to cryptocurrencies in late 2021, the company flatly denied these claims.
eBay CEO Jamie Iannone confirmed that the company is investigating crypto payments.
The collapse in the crypto market is also reflected in NFTs. NFT searches have decreased significantly, according to data from Google Trends. It will be clear in the coming days how much demand eBay’s NFT collection will be.
