Easter Eggs and Details You Probably Didn’t Notice in FIFA Games

Surprises or details that we do not usually encounter in sports games can put a small smile on a person's face when noticed.

Normally, we do not expect to encounter such surprises in games published under the sports category. Naturally, the first thought of all of us, when we are with our friends, is “Let’s play a match” or “I’ll play a few matches and then hang up.”

However, EA has added both small details and different easter eggs to the FIFA series, which will surprise you if you see it for the first time.

First, let’s look at the easter eggs:

There is a Ryan Reynolds easter egg in FIFA 23.

Wrexham FC, known as the Red Dragons, is actually a football club, described as a village team, playing in EFL League Two (England’s 3rd League).

In February 2021, Wrexham FC was purchased by Hollywood’s well-known names Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for £ 2 million.

If we play Wrexham and Liverpool in FIFA 23, the announcers pass the microphone to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. At that moment, there is a fun conversation about how Liverpool is a small team compared to Wrexham and that Liverpool is a fake version of Wrexham.

When West Ham play at home in FIFA 23, the fans experience a very different atmosphere on the field with the song Bubbles and the foam bubbles or bubble guns we played with when we were little.

When we choose West Ham as the home field, the stadium turns into a children’s playground and manages to attract the players once again. We can say that this moment is iconic for West Ham fans, players and even all football fans.

I guess he doesn’t go to the meeting with a helmet…

Petr Čech suffered a brain injury during a match between Chelsea and Reading in 2006 when Stephen Hunt’s knee hit Čech’s head. As you know, Čech, who was found to have a crack in his skull and almost died, wears this helmet (mask) during the matches so that he can continue playing football.

In the early versions of FIFA 19, when you go to meet Petr Čech in career mode, you can see Čech sitting there with a helmet. Upon the incident, Čech thinks they did this as a joke, but he states that he will not go to any meeting without a tie.

Although this incident was initially thought of as a humorous greeting, this situation was eliminated with the later update and EA then made a sweet joke about finding a tie while updating it.

If you choose Arena del Centenario as the stadium in FIFA 17, you will see a giant inflatable EA-branded cola can behind the corner flags.

The interesting thing is that it is not just a visual addition. When you throw the ball towards the bottle, instead of disappearing, the ball bounces off the coke can and comes back to you.

We hope to see more such surprises in EA’s new release, EA FC24.

Now let’s look at some details:

The Mexican wave choreography, which we first encountered in FIFA 19, becomes more stylish in FIFA 23.

Ball collectors, whose existence we did not even know in previous FIFA games, have an animation for the first time in FIFA 23.

In FIFA 23, if a defending player interferes with the ball, the foot of the intervening player shows an action.

Even though we don’t pay much attention, the grass flies when we slide or hit the ball in FIFA games.

The interaction between characters in FIFA games when they collide becomes more realistic in FIFA 23.

Players are feeling the pain in FIFA 23. We have never seen this in previous FIFA games.

We don’t notice or care much about such small details. But such details inevitably make the game even more attractive. So, among these, which one did you like the most or caught your attention?
