Electronic Arts pulled FIFA games from digital platforms such as Steam and console stores with the release of EA Sports FC 24. As noted by X user MauroNL, all of EA’s FIFA games, including last year’s game FIFA 23, are no longer available for purchase in these stores.

It’s still possible to play some games through EA Play, the publisher’s subscription service. If you really want it, you can find physical copies of delisted games on consoles, and if you purchased a FIFA game from a digital store, you can re-download it.

However, if you have not yet purchased FIFA 23 or any of the previous games on Steam, we can say that you are out of luck. “At the request of the publisher, EA Sports FIFA 23 is not listed in the Steam store and will not appear in search,” reads an alert on the game’s Steam page. It is not yet clear why EA has removed all these games from sale. However, it seems likely that there is a licensing issue involved.

Last year, EA and FIFA ended their long-standing licensing partnership for the classic football simulation series. EA rebranded the series as EA Sports FC. Although the game has been in early access since last week, it will be officially released on September 29.
