Minister of Justice Abdülhamit Gül announced a new service that will come into service in our country, with a post he shared on Twitter in the morning. Thanks to the new service called e-Hearing, it is now possible to attend hearings with audio and video. The service has started to be implemented in 81 provinces as of today.
The e-Hearing, which is reported to have been developed by the engineers of the Ministry, can enable lawyers to be connected to 1,400 law courts. In this way, lawyers save a lot of time, especially. The e-Hearing was launched on September 15, 2020 and hosted a total of 25,705 hearings until the beginning of October.
How is the service used?
Lawyers who want to use the application first inquire about their hearings on the UYAP Lawyer Portal and submit their e-Hearing request by writing their reasons. If the judge accepts the request through the system, the lawyer can connect to the hearing via video conference. The e-trial starts with the court activating the system.
