According to the news of The Hollywood Reporter, a movie about the iconic video game hero Duke Nukem and directed by the names behind Cobra Kai is coming.

Dune producer Legendary Entertainment studio has acquired the production rights to Duke Nukem. Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, who brought the Netflix series Cobra Kai to life, are said to be producing. The project is currently in production and no writer or director has been named for the film yet, Reporter said.

The Duke Nukem series of games was first introduced to computers in 1991, but reached enormous popularity with the release of Duke Nukem 3D in 1996. We had to wait more than 14 years for the sequel to Duke Nukem Forever, which did not receive much critical acclaim when it was released in 2011.

A movie about this special hero fighting aliens has been said to be in development in Hollywood for years, but we haven’t come across this movie yet. According to the plans in 2018, former WWE star John Cena was thought to play the lead role, but these plans did not materialize.
