Volkswagen, which is preparing to adopt the Level 4 autonomous driving system, is aware that new generation vehicles need high-performance chips. The company, which has taken various steps in this regard, believes that vehicles with Level 4 autonomous driving system will be on the roads as of 2026, with the agreement with Qualcomm.

Systems-on-chip (SoC) is of great importance for autonomous driving software. Qualcomm’s Ride platform also needs multiple SoCs for autonomous driving. Qualcomm also has the Snapdragon Automotive Platform, a quad-core SoC that offers integration with Wi-Fi, LTE, and other in-car devices.
