Today, due to the tension between Russia and Ukraine and global inflation problems, there is a great decline in consumer electronics demands. According to a new Trendforce study, the price drops seen in the DRAM industry over the past few months will continue in the coming months.
A decrease of up to 8% is expected.
Sharing a new market research covering the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2022, Trendforce thinks that there will be an average of 3 to 8 percent decline in 3rd quarter DRAM prices. However, reasons such as weakening demand for PC DRAMs and having extra stocks in the hands of manufacturers will reduce the price of DDR4 RAMs by 3 to 8 percent and the price of DDR5 RAMs by 0 to 5 percent.
When it comes to smartphone and consumer DRAM, a decline of 3 percent to 8 percent is expected as sales in the consumer market fail to meet expectations. In addition, believing that weak demand is a major barrier to graphics DRAM pricing, which rose in this quarter, Trendforce thinks that the prices that rose in the 2nd quarter will decrease by up to 5 percent in the 3rd quarter and will be offset by the manufacturers.
