A few weeks ago, the internet was awash with a photo of Pope Francis wearing a stylish white puffer jacket. Many publications reported this, and then it turned out that it was actually an AI-generated picture. In the same week, some images showing the arrest of former US President Donald Trump, which appeared to be created by artificial intelligence, circulated on the Internet. Finally, it was reported that the photo that won the first place in the Sony photography awards is actually an image created by artificial intelligence.
If all that wasn’t enough for you, hearing that generative AI has gone beyond images and into the realm of sound may add to your excitement. While part of this is about translating audio to text, the really exciting part is generating audio from text clues.
Technically, this technology is still considered to be in its early stages. But the last example contains a result that it would be almost impossible for you to understand that it is artificial intelligence if we didn’t say it.

Honestly, this song sounds like a real Drake song: it’s everything we’ve come to expect from the artist, from the instruments he uses to the rhythm timing to Drake’s rap style…

It’s not hard to predict that things will get complicated as prolific AI begins to produce music at levels indistinguishable from artists. Music companies are trying to remove AI-generated songs from the internet, and potential legal battles are starting between AI companies and artists. And one thing’s for sure: The future of the music industry is about to get weird because of artificial intelligence…
