At the “Qingmao” checkpoint, Chinese officials reportedly witnessed an unprecedented situation in the X-Ray image of an electric scooter. Surprisingly, it turned out that a smuggler had hidden a large number of Kingston SSDs in the steering rod of a Yadea KS electric scooter.

According to the shared images, this person tried to take advantage of the device’s thin and rectangular design by hiding NVMe SSDs in the empty space on the front of the scooter. Officials say 84 SSD drives are hidden in the electric scooter. The value of the smuggled goods or how much fine this person will be fined has not yet been disclosed.

Chip smuggling on the rise in China
