Dogecoin announced, new update will be released this month
Dogecoin (DOGE) has been making headlines lately. The original meme coin received support from some influential figures in the industry, including Elon Musk. Recently, Musk had a Twitter discussion with Jackson Palmer, co-founder of DOGE, about his coding abilities. It seems that while these two were “dealing”, DOGE’s core developers were busy planning an upgrade of the system.

A recent tweet reported that Patrick Lodder, a DOGE kernel developer, has contacted others to implement a system upgrade called the 1.14.6 update. Patrick previously posted about this on Reddit. According to the latest announcement, the deadlines will be as follows.
- Deadline for any pull request that changes UI strings: June 19
- Deadline for any pull request and action: June 29 (980710)
- Any for release preparation deadline for a backend maintainer run: July 1

According to DOGE core developer Patrick Lodder, a few things need to be fixed before the update is released. These include enhanced wallet protection, fixes for known Bitcoin vulnerabilities, fixes for potential DOGE vulnerabilities, making Dogecoin Core wallet cheaper, an easy-to-use gitian script, and improved handling of address messages.
Also a few more updates for Dogecoin were mentioned. These are not required to be added when the update occurs. Because the system can work without these updates, Patrick thinks they may be included now or at a later date. These include better cleanup modules, increased latent entropy, increased system performance, and assembly cleanup.
How is Dogecoin price reacting to the announcement?
The DOGE community is already excited for the upcoming updates, and the coin has already seen a positive impact on price. At the time of writing, Dogecoin is trading around $0.083 and is up 2.6% daily.
According to on-chain data, there is a much higher sell offer than buy, currently active in the market. Sales exceed $2 million. As Ascension is scheduled to be released later this month, Doge seems to lack strong technical indicators.
